VoIP

What is VoIP?

VoIP is an acronym for Voice over Internet Protocol. Instead of using a traditional analog phone line, VoIP technology lets people make voice telephone calls via an Internet connection and bypass the telephone company completely. VoIP technology turns a user's voice into a digital signal that is sent through the Internet to the person being called. When the digital signal reaches the person on the other end, it is converted back to a traditional telephone signal. While some VoIP providers may limit users to calling only those also using VoIP technology, others provide calls to anyone with a telephone number.

online marketing

Online Marketing

shopping is switching to online department stores because most people look online before leaving their house. We hardly see catalogues anymore, it costs way too much and is unnecessary as people didn’t seem to want catalogues anymore. An online store is pretty much a catalogue as it has all of the products in one place and has more information than just the price, a picture and a small description. Online you get customer reviews, ratings, delivery; special offers may also become available through online purchase. An online is also more eco-friendly as it saves the overuse of paper.

When 4g is introduced we will be able to check emails, download huge documents and video calling on the go will be unbelievably quick also 4g will let us do things we never could before- video conferencing on location and uploading massive files to websites and stream a movie on the go without buffering.

EE is aiming to provide 98% of the UK with 4g by 2014. 4G coverage in London, Birmingham, Cardiff and Bristol is currently being tested ahead of the launch that will take place in “weeks”.

Image Types

Monochrome Bitmap -

A Monochrome bitmap is black and white bitmap file, but each pixel is represented by a single bit. Eight pixels are in each byte of the bitmap. Monochrome bitmaps are often used for bitmapped text or single-coloured images.

Colour Bitmap -

A representation in which each item corresponds to one or more bits of information, esp. the information used to control the display of a computer screen. The more bits, the bigger the file size and the higher the definition of the image.

JPEG -

The degree of compression can be adjusted, allowing a selectable trade-off between storage size and image quality. JPEG typically achieves 10:1 compression with little perceptible loss in image quality.

GIF -

The Graphics Interchange Format (GIF) is a bitmap image format and has come into widespread usage on the World Wide Web due to its wide support and portability. It is a popular format for image files, with built-in data compression.

TIFF -

Tagged Image File Format (abbreviated TIFF) is a file format for storing images, popular among Apple owners, graphic artists, the publishing industry, and both amateur and professional photographers in general. it is under the control of Adobe Systems.

PNG -

Portable Network Graphics (PNG) is a bitmapped image format that employs lossless data compression. PNG was created to improve upon and replace GIF (Graphics Interchange Format) as an image-file format not requiring a patent license.
